We are celebrating the 78th Anniversary of our Independence Day this year. Let us think of the brave soldiers of the Indian Army who courageously serve in harsh climates, far from their families, risking their lives to keep us safe from enemy threats. Along the border, a reassuring signboard reads, 'Sleep peacefully at your homes, Indian Army is guarding the frontiers', reminding us of our protection. Many soldiers have made the ultimate sacrifice for our Mother India.
Captain Vikram Batra, a brave officer and patriot, is remembered for his iconic slogan "Ye Dil Mange More" and his fearless leadership. Despite being injured by enemy fire, he continued to fight until he made the supreme sacrifice, earning the Param Vir Chakra posthumously. Another hero, Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat, of the 4th Battalion of Garhwal Rifles Infantry Regiment, displayed extraordinary courage during the Indo-China War. He is revered as 'Jaswant Baba' by locals and soldiers alike, believed to protect them even in spirit.
Sepoy Harbhajan Singh, known as Baba Harbhajan Singh, continues to inspire faith and courage among soldiers guarding our borders. After his untimely demise, soldiers believe he warns them of impending dangers through dreams, reinforcing their morale in challenging environments. Their unwavering belief in Baba Harbhajan Singh reflects the deep patriotism and devotion of our armed forces.
"Our National Flag does not fly because the wind moves it. It flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it." Let us honor and remember with utmost respect those brave sons of Mother India who sacrificed their lives in defense of our nation.
