Our homes, once beautiful, collapsed around us.
Our country, once our haven, has become hell on earth.
They said leaving was our choice,
But was it not them who pushed us out?
With guns pointed at our heads and tanks on our streets,
It was them who pushed us out.
We have nowhere to be safe now,
Nowhere to be free.
Wandering from pillar to post,
We are at the mercy of those around us.
Pushed out of our homes,
Forced to seek shelter in other’s houses.
Our names forgotten, our identities snatched.
We do not belong where we are,
But we cannot be where we belong.
What we carry on our backs are the only remnants,
Of a life that was once serene and peaceful.
We have nowhere to be safe now,
Nowhere to be free.
There is peace around us,
But our souls riot within us.
There is happiness around us,
But we carry no trace of it.
We are safe where we are,
But we are not at home.
We will never be at home because,
We have nowhere to be safe now,
Nowhere to be free.
