Present-day, Shivgarh, Maharashtra.

The monsoon arrived at the right time. With a good forecast, the farmers rejoiced. Shivgarh had never faced any climate issues in its long history. The ideal temperature for farming, enough rain and good water supplies from the running rivers and the waterfalls made the farmers believe that their village was blessed.

Krishnajeet Mahant, the head of the village, was helping the farmers get the best rate of their produce. He belonged to one of the most decorated families of Shivgarh. Every generation had given their all for this village. To provide a stable income, he invited the industries to operate, and a mining organisation showed their interest as some outer bands of the Shivgarh had rich coal resources.

Most of the youth used to work at the coal mines. Mahant had also collected donations from the institutions around the country to develop the school in Shivgarh. The small village was flourishing. Even after all these, the big chunk of revenue was from the tourists.
