"Get your lazy ass up," Mom barged into my room, her Louboutins

"apped with each step she took as she ripped open my curtains. I groaned as the sun blinked on my face, covering my plush blanket over my head, pinching my eyes close, and slumbering back into my cocoon.

"Don't make me repeat myself, mija," she tugged on my blanket and jerked it away from my body. "Robin has been waiting for you since morning. You were expected by eight thirty in the training room, it s afternoon now." Robin Scott was our house manager, and his wife Hannah was my caretaker. They had been living with my grandparents much before we arrived in Murkwood.

Robin being a He-man, took in his hands to teach me self-defence. My mother had always prioritised my training to prepare me for any danger I might encounter. It's not that I don't enjoy it, fencing is my favorite sport, especially with Sabre, but impalement art was my specialty-knife throwing and archery. Nowadays, we were working with a crossbow. Knowing your strength when you don't know how to deal with your weakness gives some self assurance.

"MOM, I am already sore," I growled at her, writhing in my bed due to the loss of coziness and warmth. I thrashed and hid my already hrobing head under the pillow, sliding another pillow on my body, searching for some warmth.

"Why are you in your training clothes?" she asked, examining my body.
