Have you ever felt like throwing in the towel? Like life’s challenges are just too much to bear? Arjun Sen’s Unquit Forever speaks to all of us who’ve faced those moments. Arjun, a former CMO-turned-motivational speaker, brings his own trials and triumphs to life, turning his personal struggles into universal lessons. What’s remarkable is how he transforms adversity into resilience, offering readers not just hope but a practical roadmap to keep going.

At its heart, Unquit Forever isn’t just Arjun Sen’s story—it’s all of ours. He takes us through pivotal moments of his life, including a cancer diagnosis that felt like the end, but turned out to be a beginning. One of the standout anecdotes is his marathon journey—26.2 miles, nearly 65,000 steps—symbolizing how breaking monumental challenges into smaller, manageable pieces can make the impossible feel doable. This isn’t just a self-help book; it’s a heartfelt celebration of the human spirit, the “sherpas” who help us along the way, and the power of finding that one reason to take the next step.

Arjun’s writing feels like a conversation with an old friend. It’s approachable, filled with humour, raw emotions, and deeply introspective moments. He doesn’t sugarcoat his struggles, which makes his triumphs feel that much more real. Whether he’s reflecting on hospital stays or celebrating small victories with pizza nights, his storytelling is vivid, engaging, and inspiring without ever feeling preachy.

This book doesn’t have traditional characters, but its “heroes” are the everyday people Arjun lovingly calls his “sherpas.” These are the friends, family, and even strangers who show up when we need them most. The idea of being an “unquitter” is central—Arjun emphasizes that it’s not about never failing; it’s about always trying one more time. These ideas are woven beautifully into the narrative, making them resonate long after you’ve put the book down.

The structure of Unquit Forever is like a journey itself. Each chapter is a milestone, a step forward in Arjun’s story of resilience. The pacing is steady—never rushed, never dragging—allowing readers to absorb each lesson fully. The marathon analogy ties the narrative together perfectly, illustrating that life’s challenges are overcome one step at a time.

At its core, this book is about resilience, community, and gratitude. Arjun reminds us that life’s storms can be weathered with the right support and mindset. The theme of connection—how the people around us can be our anchors—is particularly poignant. It’s a timely reminder in a world that often feels disconnected.

I found myself tearing up and fist-pumping in equal measure while reading this book. Arjun’s honesty about his fears and vulnerabilities is deeply moving, but it’s his triumphs—both big and small—that stay with you. Moments like crossing the marathon finish line or simply taking one more step in the face of doubt hit home, reminding me of my own moments of perseverance.

The biggest strength of Unquit Forever is its authenticity. Arjun’s voice is real, relatable, and unfiltered. His stories are so vividly told that you feel like you’re right there with him, celebrating every win and learning from every setback. The focus on gratitude, especially for the “sherpas,” is another standout—it’s a refreshing take on the usual self-help narrative.

If I had to nitpick, I’d say the book occasionally leans a little too heavily on its metaphors. While the marathon analogy is powerful, it’s revisited so often that it risks losing its impact. That said, the sincerity of Arjun’s message more than makes up for this minor flaw.

This book hit me on a deeply personal level. It made me think about the people in my life who’ve been my sherpas, and the times I’ve found the strength to take “just one more step.” It’s not just a book I read; it’s an experience that left me feeling more hopeful and determined.

Unquit Forever is a testament to the unyielding human spirit. It’s a book that doesn’t just inspire—it empowers. Whether you’re facing a personal crisis, working toward a daunting goal, or just need a reminder of the strength within, this book is a must-read. Arjun Sen has not only written a guide to perseverance but a celebration of community, resilience, and hope.
