100 Best Books of All Time | Part - VII

From the best fiction books to the best nonfiction books, there are so many excellent titles around the world. I believe the best books open our minds to new characters, points of view and worlds. They stay with us long after the last page is read. They make us want to share them with everyone.

To land in the top 100, a book needed to truly stand out in the stacks. I have considered bestsellers, award winners and books that are highly rated by readers and critics alike. Many have been made into blockbuster movies. Many are taught in schools today.

And most have had profound impacts on literature, culture and the world in general. My list includes everything from classics to new favourites, the best biographies to the best children’s books. Here is Part VII

  • The Color of Water: A Black Man’s Tribute to His White Mother by James McBride (1995)

  • The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan (1989)

  • The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen (2001)

  • The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America by Erik Larson (2003)

  • The Giver by Lois Lowry (1993)

  • The Night Watchmen by Louise Erdrich (2020)

  • The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman (1995)
